Program Committee Chair's Message for LCN 2004

This year, we received 142 full papers (8 pages) and 7 short papers (2 pages) submissions from 29 countries. We requested for three independent reviews for all papers using a single blind review process. Papers with new ideas were given preference to stimulate discussions during the conference. We selected 42 full papers for oral presentation. Three high quality papers were additionally accepted from the associated EmNetS workshop (EmNetS accepted only 12 full papers out of 56 submissions as full papers in addition to these three papers). Due to timing constraints for oral presentations, we accepted 22 good quality papers (many submitted as regular papers) as short papers to be presented during poster sessions. We hope that poster session will provide good opportunity for students and young researchers to interact with conference attendees in an informal setting. We hope that you will find the program and presentations exciting and thought-provoking. We would like to express our gratitude to Prof Hari Balakrishnan and Prof Raj Jain for accepting our invitation to be the keynote speakers.
